Pranks like egging cars and toilet-papering houses are something most of us left behind in high school (or maybe even middle school). But one University of Georgia student apparently held on to his youthful sense of humor and now he is paying the price; he was recently arrested by Athens police after they responded to a complaint of an egging and found the student to allegedly be in possession of marijuana.

The police responded to an apartment building near campus on Sunday because they had been told someone was throwing eggs and cars from an apartment window. They deduced that it may have been a 19-year-old resident of the apartments. When they questioned him, he reportedly admitted that he had been throwing eggs.

The man invited the police into his apartment. There, they noticed "a large amount of alcohol," what seemed to be marijuana and something that looked like a device used to smoke marijuana. Police have said the man admitted to owning all the alcohol and the substance, which he supposedly identified as marijuana.

The man was arrested and taking Clarke County Jail. He has now been charged with possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and underage possession of alcohol.

This man's story is a good example of how something lighthearted and fun can quickly turn serious. Each year, many college students find what they thought would be a lark has gotten away from them and they get into trouble as a result. Many of them choose to hire criminal defense attorneys to make sure that they are not unduly punished and that they can stay informed of their rights.
